The historiography of the Russian Revolution had, since 1917, different "schools of thought", but the fall of Communism in the former uSSR in 1991 has drastically changed the interpretative landscape, with new themes and approaches. this article examines the mutual points of dispute and agreement amongst historians and it seeks to identify the trends that have exercised the main specialists in twentieth-Century Russia in the last three decades.
