    Abstract (may include machine translation)

This paper discusses aspects of development of Central European economic thought. We introduce a simple periodization of the history of economic thought in this region. The first period lasts till the end of the World War One; it is followed by the interwar period, then the socialist period, and closes with the period after the break-up of socialist regimes. For each period we present the main economic characteristics and point to important contributions to the development of economic thought in this region.
