Abstract (may include machine translation)

A study was made of migration in the Moscow region. The mechanism of migration was studied on three levels: at the macrolevel to reveal the main trends in the migratory process; at the mesolevel to investigate migration between administrative regions and individual urban settlements; and at the microlevel to study the statistics of individual areas. The study was based on population statistics for the years 1959-1986. It was concluded that the proportion of the migrating population arriving in the Moscow capital region had remained unchanged and that Moscow's share of the population of the Central Economic Region would probably increase in the future. -translated by P.Cooke
