Abstract (may include machine translation)

Self-similar objects are the simplest examples for scale invariance. Scaling is maintained, although in an anisotropic form, when the invariance is required for the general affine transformation and not for pure dilation only. Examples include critical directed percolation clusters, directed lattice animals, or the record of a random walk. These objects are called self-affine.
