Abstract (may include machine translation)
This book examines the history of the emergence of political division in Hungary over a decade and a half, up to the 2002 elections. The emergence of pluralism can be linked to certain breaking points and turning points, in addition to historically defined troughs. Certain historical moments have had a decisive influence on the organisation of political forces, their transformation, etc. Such were the movements that grew out of certain circles, clubs, opposition initiatives in the 1980s, which meant that pluralism existed in Hungary before democracy. This volume analyses the main factors influencing the emergence of pluralism from a historical and comparative perspective.
