Abstract (may include machine translation)

This paper examines the relationship between educational variables and income inequality in Turkey. The author first estimates the impact of educational attainment, then analyzes educational inequality, and finally reviews education spending in the public and private sectors. In doing so, she argues that due to limited public spending on primary and secondary education and rising private spending, the gap between socioeconomic groups cannot be significantly reduced.
