Abstract (may include machine translation)
Amióta magyar állampolgárokat a hatalom hallgatólagos támogatásával, erőszakkal megakadályoztak népszavazási kérdésük leadásában – vagyis alkotmányos jogaik gyakorlásában – érdemes újra feltennünk a kérdést: beszélhetünk-e még bármilyen értelemben demokráciáról Magyarországon?
Since Hungarian citizens have been forcibly prevented, with the tacit support of the authorities, from voting in referendums - i.e. from exercising their constitutional rights - it is worth asking the question again: can we still talk about democracy in any sense in Hungary? - asks our guest author today, political scientist ANDRÁS BOZÓKI. According to the professor at the Central European University, the Orbán regime in 2016 should no longer be called a democracy by any adjective.
