Abstract (may include machine translation)
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights proclaim that everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion, including freedom to manifest his religion or belief in worship, teaching, practice and observance. Today, even in our democratic societies, this fundamental right is still sometimes limited and comes up against hostility and intolerance. Through concrete examples, the author compares and analyzes the protection of the right to freedom of religion in the jurisprudence of European constitutional courts and the European Court of Human Rights of the Council of Europe, to determine whether there is a common European law in this field.
