This Article introduces the Special Section on “Differentiated Governance in a Europe in Crisis”, outlining the focus of the Special Section and summarising the contents of its various contributions. The Article defines the notion of differentiated governance and highlights its manifestation both within and outside the EU, and underlines how recent crises affecting the EU have increased differentiated governance.
