Abstract (may include machine translation)

An Ising model with competing nearest and more-than-nearest neighbour interactions on a hierarchical lattice is solved by decimation. In the context of nonlinear mappings the renormalisation group trajectories are analysed as the competition parameter is varied. Commensurate and incommensurate phases are identified.
