The effects of the protocol on the WTO system are then analysed. The compatibility of trade in LMOs under the provisions of the Biosafety Protocol with the rules of the WTO/GATT system is examined in order to then derive ideas for a common coexistence that takes into account a fair balance from the perspective of the structure of the WTO/GATT system.",
