Abstract (may include machine translation)

The idea of the summer university comes from the Transylvanian restorer Ferenc Mihály, a prominent representative of the Hungarian heritage protection in Transylvania. In the autumn of 2017, he suggested that the unused Saxon fortified church of Szászbogács (Bägaciu, Bogeschdorf) would be suitable for launching a regular summer university course organized in cooperation with Hungarian and Romanian university departments providing complex training in areas related to heritage conservation. The initiative of Ferenc Mihály was also adopted by the duly licensed association of Transylvanian restorers, the Arcus Egyesület (Arcus Association),and it declared the readiness to provide professional, technical and logistical assistance in the realization of the project.
