A Madarak útján c. kreatív dokumentumfilm egy távoli, orosz óhitűek által lakott faluba vezet minket a Duna romániai deltatorkolatához - a vándormadarak útját követve. A film főszereplője maga az óhitű közösség, a lipovánok.
Hajdan menekültek, akiket az orosz ortodox egyház 1666-ban kiátkozott, az óhitűek a vad Duna deltánál találtak menedéket – mert itt meg tudták őrizni évszázados hagyományaikat, vallási rituáléjukat és szent nyelvüket, az egyházi szlávot, s megmenekültek az üldöztetéstől.
Mára alig maradt valaki, aki el tudná olvasni a szent szövegeket, papot sem találnak, aki a gyülekezetet élére állna - a faluban egyre jobban teret nyer a modernizáció.
A filmben Artiom, az utolsó öregember, aki még tud olvasni a szent szövegekben, elmeséli, hogy az óhitűeknek hogyan fog beteljesedni a végzete – ahogy ez már a Könyvben is meg van írva.
The creative documentary On the Way of the Birds takes us to a remote village inhabited by Russian Old Believers at the mouth of the Danube Delta in Romania - following the path of migratory birds. The main protagonist of the film is the Ochre community itself, the Lipovans.
Former refugees who were excommunicated by the Russian Orthodox Church in 1666, the Old Believers found refuge in the wild Danube Delta - where they could preserve their centuries-old traditions, religious rituals and sacred language, Church Slavonic, and escape persecution.
Today, there is hardly anyone left who can read the sacred texts, and there is no priest to lead the congregation - the village is increasingly modernised.
In the film, Artiom, the last old man who can still read the sacred texts, tells the story of how the Old Believers will meet their destiny - as it is written in the Book.
