Abstract (may include machine translation)

Ronald Fraser's work is an excellent guide to discover the hidden histories of the Spanish Civil War, the opinion of men and women, victors and vanquished, who rarely appeared in historical documents. With oral sources as the main way of research, Fraser opened multiple roads hitherto unexplored and developed a history «from below» on the popular experience of war and revolution, the first of its kind that appeared in our historiography. This paper assesses his legacy, the theories and methods that informed his oral history.
