    Abstract (may include machine translation)

The eleventh century is a decisive period in the architecture of the medieval Hungarian Kingdom. As one of the countries joining Christianity during the tenth and eleventh centuries in East-Central Europe, the major task was to establish an architectural framework of the church organization, including cathedrals and baptismal churches as well as provide centers of local power. The architectural tendencies show various directions, pointing to the Holy Roman Empire, Italy and Byzantium, thus well representing the multiple and complicated cultural and political relationships of Central Europe.
