A fehérvárcsurgói Károlyi-kastély a magyarországi rezidenciák közül az egyik legértékesebb építészeti emlék, amely jól reprezentálja az ország életében lejátszódott nagy történelmi fordulatokat. Az elmúlt évek nagy helyreállítási munkái nyomán, ma újra régi fényében tündököl a kastély, amelyben többek között a 20. századi magyar emigráció történetének kiemelkedő hagyatékai is helyet kaptak. A megújult könyvtárban került elhelyezésre Vajay Szabolcs történész, címer- és családtörténet kutató, diplomata és író tudományos könyvtára, amely e reneszánsz ember regényes életútjának dokumentuma. Ugyanekkor a Károlyi József Alapítvány gondozásába került a tudós hagyatéka is, amely a magyar nemesség és arisztokrácia kutatásának egyik fontos gyűjteménye.
