Description

Understanding the international dimensions and effects of populism
The global rise of populist movements has primarily been analysed for its domestic implications, but its international effects remain underexplored. Populism influences countries’ foreign policies and is often cited as a factor contributing to the crisis in the liberal world order. Understanding its international implications is crucial as populism continues to affect citizens’ lives and the global political landscape. The EU-funded IDEoPOP project explores the relationship between populism and world politics. The project will investigate the international dimensions of populism, exploring how it intersects with both domestic and international politics and its impact on international relations. Additionally, the network will train doctoral researchers to study the international dimensions and effects of populism.
