Research interests
The focus of Eva Wittenberg's research is on how humans use cues from grammar to understand events. Using a creative combination of methods, she investigates the event construals people form, demonstrating that this linguistic guidance arises from deep-seated roots within grammatical regularities, with measurable impacts on neural and behavioral signatures of processing. She is excited to join the Department of Cognitive Science at CEU, looking forward to further anchoring her work in cognitive science and leveraging the rich linguistic landscape in Austria for new explorations on the interface of language and mind.
