Brigitta Doczi

Brigitta Dóczi, who has recently joined the faculty as an academic writing instructor in RGPP, is a teacher, researcher and teacher trainer. She graduated from Eötvös Loránd University, School of English and American Studies in 1999 and she has been a member at the Department of English Applied Linguistics of Eötvös Loránd University since that time, offering undergraduate courses in business English, academic writing, vocabulary, pedagogical grammar and pedagogical phonology.
She obtained a PhD degree in 2012, after which she co-authored "Longitudinal developments in vocabulary knowledge and lexical organization", published by Oxford University Press in 2016 with Judit Kormos, her PhD supervisor.

Brigitta also teaches academic writing and vocabulary research at PhD level in various doctoral schools and offers supervision to Hungarian and  international students. Her main fields of interest are second language vocabulary development and lexicography, as well as task-based teaching and materials design. Recently, she has been doing research on the role of verbal and visual modalities in fine arts education, resulting in the publication of a specialized bilingual art dictionary in 2020. She has extensive experience in teacher training, while still actively teaching English as a foreign language. Currently she is member of a research team that investigates the role of individual differences and tasks in secondary EFL education.
When teaching writing, she loves to focus on the whole process and hopes to help students find their creative spark and self-confidence in writing.
