Students will explore a variety of methodological approaches and historiographical trends that have shaped the field. Throughout the course, key concepts and terminology will be introduced, alongside training in working with primary sources and secondary literature.The initial weeks will focus on foundational principles essential to the practice of history. As the course progresses, students will delve into major historiographical trends, discussing significant approaches and developments that have influenced contemporary historical scholarship. In the final segment of the course, attention will shift to current perspectives and emerging tendencies, including global history, postcolonial studies, gender studies, digital humanities, and the role of artificial intelligence in historical research.By the end of the course, students will have gained a solid foundation in the methods and practices vital to the study of history, equipping them with the tools necessary for rigorous historical inquiry.
