https://at-ceu.studyguide.timeedit.net/modules/UGST4275?type=COREThis iteration of Topics in Philosophy and Literature will focus on philosophical themes in Fyodor Dostoevsky's classic novel The Brothers Karamazov. During the course, we will read this text closely, discuss it generally, and especially bring out some of its philosophical views and arguments - concerning God, love, morality, reason, faith, and doubt. The primary aim is to give students the ability to see and evaluate such themes in this and other fictional texts and to engage with the distinctive way in which a novel can be philosophical.
