Topical Debates: Regular research seminars will beheld as a forum for faculty and doctoral students to engage each other'sresearch as well as enjoy guest lecturers on various topics related to theenvironmental field. The purpose of the seminar is to establish a forum forproductive inter-disciplinary scholarly debate and exchange of ideas. PhD presentations: All first-year students areexpected to make a brief introduction of their preliminary dissertationproposal in the middle of their first term. As a part of the course, PhDstudents receive guidance on how to assist with the evaluation at the masterstudent conference that falls on the last day of the Fall term. All studentResearch Update and Analytical Chapter Presentations, as well as DissertationProspectus and Dissertation Defenses are also considered part of the seminar.All first-year students and all doctoral students in residence are expected toattend these seminars in both fall and winter terms.
