The instructors want to build on the fact that serious thesis writing will be the task of the second MA year and explore the development possibilities inherent in the relatively stress-free atmosphere of the first MA year. They hope that, if the thesis writing begins early enough, and the appropriate skills are developed when the stakes are still low, then the higher pressure during the second year will be an inspiring factor rather than an impediment.
