Aim & Background

This course provides insight into the cognitive, psychological, and social processes that allow us to engage in social interaction with others, be they humans, artificial agents, or products of artificial intelligence. We will cover theories and empirical studies on social perception, social intelligence, neural networks underlying social cognition, stereotyping, mental state attribution, empathy, cooperation, coordination, communication, limitations in social cognition abilities, as well as conflict management and repair.
