https://at-ceu.studyguide.timeedit.net/modules/RSP5041?type=CORERoma scholars are often stigmatized due to their identity, the nature of their work, and perceptions of inferiority compared to the majority population. This stigma leads to social exclusion and human rights violations, which are then justified by the very stereotypes that fuel them. After introducing students to a more advanced knowledge of public policy's core mechanisms, principles and theories, this course aims to familiarize students with basic concepts in research design (variables, research questions, case selection, analysis, use of sources, recommendations). Research methods are our tools to make sense out of complex social phenomena and data. But more importantly, they help to make convincing arguments for our audience and to start or build upon a sensible debate, which is the essence of scientific discourse and enquiry. The aim of this course is to introduce students to basic methodology and research design aspects and help them design and prepare their final research paper.
