https://at-ceu.studyguide.timeedit.net/modules/UGST4022?type=COREThis course provides an introduction to one of the central themes of Western philosophy: the nature of reality and our knowledge of it. There are two parts to this theme. The first is is knowledge: what can we know about the world? Can we know anything at all? Is truth, or knowledge, relative to your perspective or culture? The second is reality: what is the real nature of the world? What are we? How is a person's mind related to their body? This course will address these questions, among others, based around a reading of David Chalmers's recent book, Reality+ (2022). The overall aim of the course is to introduce PPE students to some central questions of philosophy, as part of their introduction to philosophy in the PPE program.
