    Aim & Background

This course introduces students to core IPE theories and themes through contemporary readings. The course is organized in two parts. In the first part, we review theories of Marx, Weber, Hayek, Bourdieu, and Polanyi and newer papers from IPE that use these theories to understand the global political economy. We continue by looking at new IPE books in the last four weeks. These books have received particular attention in recent years.
