Aim & Background

During the mandatory Prospectus Workshop, students plan the project that they will submit at the end of their second year in the HIPS MA program. This Workshop will introduce students to the requirements for the Project Prospectus, a 10-12-page document which will be defended at the end of the first year of study, in early June. During the Workshop students will identify the topic of their final project, the theoretical and disciplinary framing, and the data and evidence they will employ. Those planning on a capstone project, such as a podcast, webpage, video, or oral history, will provide a list of the skills they have and/or desire in order to complete the project. Students will also work with potential supervisors or second committee members from the CEU faculty in realizing their Prospectus. The Prospectus Workshop will take place in Budapest in person along with the Internship offered by the Open Society Archives during the Spring term.
