https://at-ceu.studyguide.timeedit.net/modules/UGST4255?type=COREThis course introduces students to corporate finance through five questions. What is a firm and a 'corporation'? How are corporations governed? How should corporate managers be compensated and controlled for the sake of shareholders? How do stocks and debt differ as funding sources for corporations? What is the optimal mix of stocks, debt, and cash to fund corporations? Lectures will cover the empirical evidence, economic theory, and cases that help answer these questions. We will use basic algebra and calculus as well as concepts from introductory microeconomics.
