We begin with a discussion of the specific properties of fixed income securities and the institutional details underlying the most important markets. We then focus on the most popular valuation techniques and different risk management tools. Finally, we cover non-standard bonds, including those with embedded options and those that carry a risk of default. If time permits, we will discuss the practice of securitization and different asset-backed securities in the last part of the course.
