    Aim & Background

During the semester, each student presents their thesis proposal and receives feedback. In order to pass, students are supposed to submit a proposal following the formal requirements set out in the student handbook, have to discuss it in class, and should actively participate in discussing the proposals of all other students. In case the proposal needs major revision, Professors will ask the student to resubmit the proposal within three weeks. In the discussion, a special emphasis will be given to the integration of the proposed research with state-of-the-art literature, conceptual clarity, structure and argument of the proposed thesis, research methodology and technical feasibility.
