Upon successful completion, students will be equipped to apply a wide range of modern econometric tools in empirical research and to critically understand and evaluate new findings in key areas of econometrics. Relevance Econometrics applies statistical methods to analyze economic data. Without understanding its basic tools, it is impossible to do applied research in economics. Familiarity with statistical concepts and econometric methods is not only useful in academic research but has also become a critical skill in a host of other carrier paths, including government and private sector positions.
