The main objective is to enable students to develop skills and competences necessary to attend graduate courses in an English speaking environment. During the first semester, the course aims at consolidating students' background knowledge and gradually building up higher-level language skills with special attention to the language areas needed in the second term. The course revises basic areas of grammar and introduces more complex structures, develops vocabulary, and improves reading, listening, speaking and writing skills with an academic focus.
